Work: Albright-Knox Art Museum Expansion
The Albright-Knox Art Gallery is in the process of a major campus redevelopment project, AK360, which aims to enhance the visitor experience, increase the number of artworks on display, and integrate the museum with Delaware Park, a Frederick Law Olmsted Parkway. Working with the AK360 Executive Committee and senior museum staff we (Modern Operations LLC) provided full Owner Representative services for the $155 Million museum expansion, adding 30,000 SF new galleries to the 6th oldest public art institution in the U.S from Dec 2016 through March 2018.
Responsible for managing and reporting on all aspects of the project: design, schedule, budget, contracts, payment applications, selection process and coordination of the Owner's team of lawyers, financial officers, city officials, consultants and subconsultants - including the Architect (OMA / Shohei Shigematsu) and Construction Manager selection process (Gilbane Building Company). Worked with, coordinated, and educated the museum's staff on how to facilitate the design and preconstruction processes for strategic results.
